[ARCHIVED] Self enrol student groups when the people is restricted by permissions

We have to have some restrictions on the People link access this prevents the self enrollment function working for students.

Are there any hacks to get around this so students can self enroll but not see the list of people under the people link.

Howdy,

As far as I'm aware this isn't possible. What I suggest teachers do in this situation is to throw the Group building screen up on the Smartboard (or could be open on a device) and then have the group leader come up and drag the names of everyone in their group into the group holder on the right.

Saves them time and can be done while everyone is working.

For a virtual course, unfortunately, the teacher will have to do the grunt work of manually building all the groups.
