The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
I find myself hand drawing checkmarks (yes) and no symbols (e.g %) over and over again. It would be much easier to use the speedgrader / crocodoc system if it was possible to add these symbols by a simple click.
Do you know of workarounds?
Kind regards,
Michael

@michael3 , although Canvas isn't able to implement changes in Crocodoc directly, on occasion an idea about a change to third-party tool functionality will be presented to the Community in the Canvas Feature Ideas space--and if user sentiment is sufficiently strong, that would provide a signal to Canvas to "put pressure" on the third party. An example of this is , which is in the "Under Consideration" stage and remains open for voting.
You can use the Feature Ideas space to gauge community sentiment for your idea. I couldn't find an existing idea for the ability to add checkmark stamps as a Crocodoc annotation feature, so if you'd like, you can submit one of your own after reading How do I create a new feature idea?
Nope, I'm not aware of a workaround for this. In addition, since Crocodoc isn't built/ran by Instructure (it's actually a third party plugin), I don't believe there is anything they can directly do to change this either.
I'm aware that Crocodoc is third party, but Instructure has chosen to use Crocodoc, so in my opinion Instructure isn't off the hook on this issue.
And if Canvas / Instructure wants to be "ease of use" it seems reasonable that they choose "ease of use" plug-ins or put pressure on third parties to provide ease of use.
I cannot be the only user that wants simple to use checkmark stamps.
Kind regards,
Michael

Your not the only one....I wish they would add this as well!!!
I usually copy and paste a green check mark or a red x into what I'm grading from Word! I just have a little document on my desk top with a big red X and big green check mark. Whenever I need to use one, I just copy and paste right from word. It makes grading much easier. If Canvas or Infrastructure can add this right into the Speedgrader, my dreams would come true!! Please canvas!! ![]()
I have posted about this before, but it didn't get many votes.
