Are you a student submitting work to your instructor via Canvas assignments? If you are attaching files from your computer to assignments that are due, then you shouldn't be getting any messages that your storage is full...because per this Guide, How do I view my user files as a student?, "Files that have been submitted as assignments and graded discussions do not apply to the user quota." I might suggest that you contact the Canvas Help Desk folks to see if they can further help troubleshoot this issue with you. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-17624-how-to-contact-canvas-support If you do contact Canvas Support, please come back to this topic to provide us with an update to let us know what the outcome of that conversation was.
