[ARCHIVED] Student access denied to assignments

I have several students who have access denied to an assignment. How do I fix this??

Hello  @5111 ...

Since the vast majority of Canvas Community members don't have access to your school's Canvas environment or your course in question, this might be a bit hard to troubleshoot without more information from you.  For example, is your assignment located in a module within your course that they are clicking on?  Or, are they trying to access the assignment via a link on a separate content page in your course?  Is the assignment itself published?  (How do I publish or unpublish an assignment as an instructor?)  If the assignment is also part of a module, is the module itself published?  (How do I publish or unpublish a module as an instructor?)  Are there any date restrictions that you've placed on the assignment that would prevent your students from accessing it?

Did you find a solution? I am continually having access denied and error messages. None of what Chris has mentioned above would be a solution in my case.

I have contacted help desk a number of times, to no avail.

pretty frustrating.

Sorry that none of the things in my above reply helped to answer your question.  Have you run the link checker in your course to see if you might have any links that are broken or are pointing to content in other courses?  If you have links pointing to content in other courses, you'll need to fix those links to your assignments because students in your course would not have access to those other courses because they are not enrolled in those other courses.  Check out the instructions in this Guide: How do I validate links in a course?.  Please let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!

When I click on the link to find out how to validate my links, it tells me I don't have access to do so.
