[ARCHIVED] Updating grade book for multiple attempts at a quiz

One student made two attempts at a quiz. I've entered the graded mark into both attempts, and ensured the quiz is set to "accept highest" mark...but I cannot for the LIFE of me get grade centre to acknowledge EITHER attempt.

I need to release the feedback to all students asap and this is driving me crazy.

Any ideas out there?

Hello  @jhergt   and welcome to the Community.  Have you tried to manually put in the grade that you want?  If you've updated the grade in SpeedGrader, then it should show up in your gradebook.

Thanks...but yes...it was the first thing I tried!

I battled on for hours yesterday...and finally discovered that it only worked for me if I ALSO copied and pasted my comments to each question from the one I wanted to mark (the first attempt) to the version I wanted to ignore (the second attempt). Finally the grade appeared in Gradebook....but it seems like a bug in the software to me. Surely when you tick "accept highest mark" in the setup it shouldn't be confused if one version is left blank and the other is graded. It creates so much more work. I strongly recommend turning off "allow multiple attempts" in all quizzes until this has been fixed.
