As a VPK teacher I am interested in using canvas to communicate announcements to parents and to post assignments for students. to do with parents.  I do not have multiple classes and do not need multiple courses.  Can I import all necessary assignments and announcements into those two features and be done?

Hi Melssa ~

You can definitely use Assignments and Announcements to clearly communicate a day's activities with your students and their families. However, I encourage you to look at Modules to organize activities by week to make it easier for everyone to find requirements. You could even use a text header to signify each day.

Home pages are really helpful for PK learners too. Kindergarten help!‌ and How does using Canvas for remote learning practically look like for K-1? could be great places to start as well. A clean, simple home page that has buttons to most commonly used locations in your course would help everyone. Just thinking, you could have a button to information about YOU and how to contact/reach you, a button to reading circle (video or book list), and then a button to the current week's module.

You mentioned "importing" content. Do you have a current LMS your moving from, or do you hope to create content as you go throughout the semester?
