Can someone recommend a LTI that might work?
The students need to add comments on their video to identify where certain points during the video occur. The instructor then needs to add comments as a response / feedback to the students, also at certain locations on the video.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Leona
I think Instructure's video product -- Arc -- will do that: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-8337-what-is-arc?sr=search&searchId=7cf9969a-34c0-44e7-afa6... and https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/arc?sr=search&searchId=8119a490-bacb-4fdd-b341-c6d4bb0f033c&s...
@lbarratt1 , check out Arc: What is Arc?
Also, if you can house the videos on YouTube, you might be able to use OTTO. It was being beta tested in a MOOC I attended as a student a few years ago, but I don't know its current status.
Thank you so much Stefanie. I'll check these out.
Hi,
I have used Vialogues for video discussions. Not sure if this will meet all your needs, but it works well and it embeds in Canvas with iFrames - so when students are logged in to Vialogues, they can comment on the video directly from within Canvas.
I just found the following:
Very simple and easy to add comments at any place in a video.
The best part is that it's FREE.
Cheers!
I used VoiceThread as a student in my Master's program, and we are trying out the free version in some of our courses at work. There is a University License version that integrates with Canvas. Hope that helps.
Hi Monica: Any recommendations for using VoiceThread in Canvas? -- any difficulties or eases you've found? My institution will be moving to Canvas soon and we will be integrating VoiceThread. Thanks.
Hi,
ilos is simple, easy to use video platform for screen recording, hosting, and sharing, and it integrates very well with the Canvas LTI. Soon to be features will include interactive commenting and quizzing.
Here's more on its integration with Canvas: ilos - ilos + Canvas: Record, Embed, Replace
We are actually just starting a pilot of ilos. It does look very promising!
