The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Hi fellow Canvas admins!
I'd love to know what LTI/Other integrations people are using with Canvas....both from the App Center and from other vendors who have unlisted LTIs. We spend so much time going back and forth with vendors about what integrations they have that I'd love to be able to see what other people are already doing and start there or join forces to get
LTI:
Khan Academy
Educreations (although getting ready to delete b/c it only lets you add some items so most teacher just use the embed code instead)

VoiceThread
ProctorU
AdobeConnect (best integration I've ever seen)
McGraw Hill Connect Ed (SSO, but not provisioning. not a strong integration)

We have the following enabled for our faculty at Moraine Park Technical College:
@Chris_Hofer you using both Turnitin APi and the LTI ?
How is that working form you?
For the time being, yes. We only have maybe a one or two instructors using Turnitin right now (that I know of), and it seems to be working fine. The API way will be going away no earlier than Q4 of this year. Check these out: Canvas and Turnitin and TurnItIn.
Thanks @Chris_Hofer We have it as a policy that it is advised that assignment submission should be checked so we are talking 500 academic using it
Hi Chris Hofer, I did a search for "MindLinks" in the community, and your post is the only one that came up in my search. We've integrated Cengage, but we're having trouble with one course that is giving us an error message that says we need to "verify that our LMS is configured to receive the MindLinks properly." Do you have any advice?
Not really sure on that one, @garciah . Have you tried reaching out to Cengage technical support to see if they can provide any assistance? I've only set up the LTI app for an instructor...I've not really used it at great length myself. Sorry.
That's ok, thanks anyway! Yes, we're currently working with their tech support. I'm sure we'll get it sorted out.
We replaced a lot of our content LTI's with the Public Resources LTI which includes Vimeo, Youtube, Quizlet, SchoolTube, and Khan Academy. Besides that we're using TedEd, Twitter, and the every popular Redirect LTI. From publishers (for SSO mostly) we've got Macmillan and Pearson.
We have the following available for faculty:
At the campus-wide level we are using:
At the Course Level:
We have been talking to McGraw Hill to integrate MH Campus. They are asking for an account level access token. What is your experience with publisher integration requiring this level of access? Do you notify your instructors to integrate at the course level instead?
Any updates on this Elisabeth? Our business school is looking at the McGraw Hill integration, but our main campus went away from MH because of FERPA concerns and giving the account/site-level access token. Just curious what you found. ![]()
Stephen,
We use McGraw Hill Connect College wide. It's fairly easy to integrate and we haven't had any concerns about security. We only use it for once course, with four sections, so it isn't widespread. But we have gotten excellent technical support from MH.
Hi @stephen_woosley , I did not receive any replies from other schools. We are currently using the MH LTI. There is an interesting recording of a presentation (InstructureCon 2016) concerning LTIs and FERPA. We will test some of the suggestions described in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ep08NBR64c&list=PLKAGO__0NI1ACPXHM78ZhT3fGw_M8EQHT&index=47

We use Edgenuity curriculum with Canvas. All of our course content is in Edgenuity. We chose Canvas because we felt its communication features (conversations, discussions, chat, conference room) were superior to Edgenuity's LMS. Also, we wanted the ability to add our own classes, which we have done from time to time, so that was another reason for choosing Canvas even though Edgenuity is supposed to be a complete LMS and curriculum in itself. Students log into Canvas, and access their Edgenuity courses through Canvas.
