How long do you keep users in Canvas after a course is concluded? I'm doing some admin work at the high school level and most of the users in Canvas have graduated. Should I get this cleaned up before uploading new users?
Hi Janet,
Does your school have a policy on how long it keeps records of student work after graduation? You may be able to follow that rule.
We have a policy that states student work, including interactions within Canvas, can be archived/removed after a year, but I work in higher ed, so we keep users enrolled in Canvas indefinitely. We're only held accountable for that year.
Is it a problem for you to keep them in Canvas? How many students does your high school graduate each year?
We are giving the Canvas Admins area a little bit of love (especially questions that are really, really old) and just want to check in with you. This will also bring this question new attention.
Were you able to find an answer to your question?
