Hello there, @sbailey87 ...
Sorry to read that you lost all your content. There is a chance that you'd be able to get your content back if you do it soon enough. I'm not sure if you've ever used your school's "test" (What is the Canvas test environment?) or "beta" (What is the Canvas beta environment?) environment, but these are two separate environments that your school should have that are separate from the normal "production" environment that you normally log into on a day-to-day basis. You may be able to find all your course content in either of these two environments. Here are the steps:
- Log in to either the "test" or "beta" environment at your school.
- Navigate to the course that has your content.
- Export the course from that environment: How do I export a Canvas course?
- Log out of the "test" or "beta" environment. How do I log out of Canvas as an instructor?
- Log in to your normal "production" environment.
- Navigate to the empty course where you want your content to go into.
- Use the file you exported from the "test" or "beta" environment to import into this course. How do I import a Canvas course export package?
Hopefully, these steps will get your course content back to normal. Just keep in mind that if you made any recent changes to your course in the "production" environment, those changes may not be reflected in the "test" or "beta" environment, so there might be some extra work you'd need to do to check over things to make sure everything looks good to you.
I hope this information will be of help to you. Sing out if you have any other questions about this...thanks! Take care, stay safe, and be well.
