[ARCHIVED] Why are some assignments in the gradebook not showing a status (late, missing)?

Some assignments are not showing the status.  I cross-checked with other assignments.  I have a due date and the category doesn’t seem to play a role.  I use this to see when a student has handed in a late assignment that may need checked if there are essay type questions that the New quizzes does not alert me to.  Thank you for your help in advance...

Has the due date passed for those assignments? If not, then the Missing or Late colors will not display.

yes...that is what I am struggling with.  I am sure I am doing something wrong or missing something.  I just cannot figure it out.  🙂

Why do you call this a solution? The due date has passed on the original author's assignment (and on mine too). This is NOT the solution. Please see images from the assignment and the gradebook. Today is Jan. 25, 2022. The assignment was due Jan 21, 2022.
