[ARCHIVED] Why are some features not working in 'Student View' mode?

Hello!

I've been using Canvas for a few years now and have become fairly comfortable with navigating, etc. I also know that Canvas makes changes in order to strengthen the platform for users. I'm having trouble with the STUDENT VIEW option that I have never had before.

Why do I keep getting the message "This feature not available while masquerading" when I attempt to complete something in 'student view'? Any help would be great appreciated! Thank you!344648_Screenshot 2020-04-13 at 11.05.46 AM.png

Hey Maigan,

Usually the only time "Student View" doesn't work, is if you are trying to view content that is tied to an External Tool.  In your screenshot, notice it is trying to connect the Test Student to Google Drive.  Because the Test Student doesn't have a Google Drive account set up, it will not display.  This also happens with other External Tools (for example, publisher content that is pulled into Canvas and tied to a particular student's email account).  I hope this helps!
