[ARCHIVED] Why do some assignments have the rubric 'on display', while to view others, you have to click, 'View Rubric'?

I can't seem to find the settings that would make this inconsistent. I need for my students to see the rubric at all times.

Hi  @sarah17  Welcome to the Canvas Community!

The only places I know of different ability to see the rubric is with Assignments, External tool assignments, and Graded Discussions.

How do I view the rubric for my assignment?

How do I view the rubric for my external tool assignment?

How do I view the rubric for my graded discussion?

The difference is due to the amount of the usable page space for assignment versus discussions and with external tools the tool takes up the regular assignment space.

To get around these differences, in Discussions I generally put a message to goto the more icon.

With external tools, I create a Page before the external tool assignment that will list the details of the assignment and show the rubric as an accessible table.
