[ARCHIVED] Why doesn't canvas work on my Mac?

Canvas does not work on my Mac and I am not sure why. I have tried quitting safari, restarting my computer, logging out and logging in again and nothing is working. I have been trying to use canvas for 3 weeks for school and still cannot figure out the problem. My dashboard and calender show up blank, and when I click on an assignment there is no submit button. This is really frustrating because I use my Mac to do homework.

Hello,  @megan_hill  Welcome to the Canvas Community! This is most likely due to an unsupported/out-of-date browser.

First, please check the version of Safari you're using (by clicking on Safari at the upper left and then About Safari) to ensure that you're using Safari 12 or 13. If you're not, you'll need to update your browser to one of these versions—which will most likely require you to first update the OS on the Mac to a version that supports Safari 12 or 13.

If you're already on the latest version of Safari, clear the cache and cookies in the Safari browser, close and then relaunch the browser.

Last, try switching to a different browser. Canvas works quite well on a Mac through Chrome, and Firefox works well also. Here's a list of supported browsers:  Which browsers does Canvas support?

If this doesn't resolve the issue for you, please contact Canvas Support. General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as a student? but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.
