I am an Canvas admin. We have an LTI 1.1 tool in place on our Canvas, and we wish to change the name that appears in the left-hand nav . The external tool was configured via URL I would like to ask if we have the vendor change the Common Cartridge XML that they host (i.e. change the lticm:property for the text) :
<lticm:property name="text">Some New Title</lticm:property>
.. will this change automatically appear in course sites (either current or future). Or will we need to have the vendor change the XML, and also re-install the tool (remove and reinstall via URL).
Thanks for any advice,
Michael Nardell

I was being forgetful when I posted this question. The answer is , "No, LTI configurations via URL are not dynamically updated when the hosted XML changes". We can see that the LTI is set-up from the XML, but once the LTI is set up the settings are largely static. I have run through testing this, and can see well that I needed the remove /re-add the tool to see the changes in the CC XML take effect.
