[ARCHIVED] assignments assigned to groups

I have several different small groups that I've created different modules for; parents notified me that students can't check off assignment when done.  I've gone in to choose "complete/incomplete" for review activities and I'm stuck on group sections/etc.  I've created groups, but concerned to choose "group assignment" because don't want all students in that small group to have to do activity before it's marked complete.  Does that matter?  If I make it a group assignment, can individual students do the task and have it marked complete?

Hi Lisa,

Do you mean you want to have some assignments in a course apply to a sub-set of the students and other assignments or an assignment apply only to another sub-set of students?   If so than you can create sections, add the sub-sets to the sections and then assign the assignments to the sections.  I checked and it looks like your institution does allow teachers to create sections (via the Sections tab in the course Settings).
