When grading assignments, how can I write comments within their documents?  I know I was able to do this previously and can no longer do this??

Hi  @gdenos  Welcome  to the Canvas Community!  You definitely can still do this in Canvas.  There is an overview of this feature here:  How do I add annotated comments in student submissions using DocViewer in SpeedGrader?  One common mistake is when an assignment also allows text entries for assignment submissions rather than only file uploads; note that the information provided in that lesson states that the annotation tools are not available for text entry assignments.

If everything otherwise checks out, make absolutely certain that you have up-to-date browsers.  There is a guide for that here:  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10720-which-browsers-does-canvas-support

I'm sorry, but this is not helpful! In the past, when I graded assignments, there were tools that opened up as soon as I went to the student's assignments. I am not certain why this no longer occurs!
