When adding a new section to a canvas course, and using an existing discussion from a prior section, will the new section see the prior section's replies?

@cmoskalik  - Can you please explain more about how your Canvas course(s) and section(s) are set up? I'm confused why you are adding a "section" to a pre-existing "course." 

Let's talk about a typical scenario. In the summer of 2021, I taught "X." This summer, I'm teaching "X" again. That means that I have two separate Canvas "courses." I have an old Canvas course, and a new Canvas course. In order to set up my new Canvas course, I'm going to "import" the modules from the old course (now found in "past enrollments") into my new course (now found on my Dashboard). When I do that, the discussions and assignments come over, but not the previous students' work. (Note: When you "import" course content, be sure to "remove" the old dates!)
