[ARCHIVED] how do I make myself an admin

The original admin has left and I need to have an admin on for our courses. Is there some way to make myself an admin

Hello,  @gjames1  and  Welcome to the Canvas Community! Please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM), who will be able to help you with this and anything else you need to take on the admin role at the school.

we have just been using the open free version up till now. So I bet that

means we do not have a CSM. We are moving to the official version soon and

need an admin account for a few things I guess

Thanks for providing that clarification,  @gjames1 . Free accounts do not provide an admin role or admin functionality; when you move to the paid version, your CSM will help you set up the new instance.
