Hi, Mary!
I am not sure if you are still looking for an answer to your question, and I apologize that no one has yet responded. If you need to move the student to another class, you can do that depending on how your institution has set up enrollments.
If your institution is using a student information system (SIS) to manage enrollments for you, you will need to move the student using the SIS file; if you do not have the ability to manage SIS files, contact your Canvas admin.
If your institution allows you to manually enroll students in a course, you can enroll the student in the course yourself by accessing the course and adding the student to the course. For more details, please see How do I add users to my course? in the Canvas Guides.
Thanks,
Erin

One thing to watch out for when you manually enroll the student is they will not get the catalog certificate. I ran into this problem already with an end user that could not enroll in one of our catalog courses for some reason so I was, "No problem! I'll enroll them manually and voila!" However, later they needed the certificate and could not find it and it was because they did not enroll through the catalog.
That is absolutely correct!! Students needs to drop from Catalog to move into another course. If someone unenrolls them from Canvas from the course then it will not be reflected in Catalog and what will happen is they will be "still" in the course: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/10162-enrollment-in-catalog-course-notification
