Although I am a teacher, I think students would benefit greatly from the ability to mark a task within a module complete. Students complain they have trouble figuring out where they left off in a module and if they've completed a module. I recently enrolled in some online teaching courses delivered via Canvas. I experienced exactly what the students were describing. I was spending way too much time trying to figure out where I left off in a module It would be very helpful if I, as the student could track (by a checkbox) what modules I had completed. I created a work-around by selecting all the text in each module, then copying and pasting this text to spreadsheet so that I can track each module/task have I completed. A simple checkbox beside each task in module would be most helpful. I think Moodle had something similar. I know an instructor can track module completion and then open up modules based on predecessor modules being completed, but I like to open the entire course so students can visualize the entire course and requirements. It is frustrating as a student to not be able to see what's coming up next.
