The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December.

How can I email students and parents at the same time about missing work. Canvas allows me to email students but each parent will have to be listed individually. Is there some way to link parent and student so when student gets automated email about missed work. the parent does also?
Right now, there is not a Canvas-created way to do this. However, if you work with your Canvas Administrator, there may be a way to add a button that says "Add Observers" to inbox messages. We did that for our campus, and we've really enjoyed the additional feature. If that's something you'd like to explore, please reply! (Also @mention me so I get a notification.)
