Hi  @diane_duffy ‌, Canvas doesn't give you an email address, your school email address is used.  Are you a teacher or student? If you can log in to Canvas, on the navigation menu on the left, click Account, then Settings.  You'll see your registered email address there.

Perhaps your school gives you an email address, check there.

Courses will appear on your Dashboard when you are enrolled in a Canvas course.  Are you teaching or a student?

Hi @diane_duffy, by adding an icon to your homepage, do you mean adding an image to a course card on your dashboard?  Or do you mean editing a Page that is your course's home page, what Canvas calls your Front Page, in the course (ie what you see when you click Home on the course navigation menu)?  If you mean editing your course's home/front page, I am not sure what you mean by adding an icon.  You can insert an image into a page by editing and using the Rich Content Editor (RCE) to insert an image.  The new RCE will be the only editor later this month, if you haven't already you should probably start using it now by enabling it in Settings/Feature options, turn on RCE enhancements.  How do I use the menubar in the New Rich Content Editor
