Is there an easy way to see which quizzes have essay questions that need to be graded?
Currently what I am doing, is going to SpeedGrader for that quiz and clicking through each student to see if the little blue box that says "The following questions need review:" pops up or not. But for about 100 students, that's a lot of clicking. I tried going to Moderate, but all that shows is whether they attempted the quiz or not.
These are all "New" quizzes, if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance!
First, if the quiz includes an essay type item and the student submits the quiz, that submission will include the "Needs Review" warning whether the student answered the essay item or not. So here's the trick I use.
If your assessment includes more than one manual grade item, then simply repeat the process for each item. Goes fairly quickly.

There are no links in the "Needs review" blue box alert for the quiz on SpeedGrader.
And the rest of what you described is what I already do. (Grade the question, click submit, click the arrow, rinse and repeat.)
I need a better solution than clicking on the arrow to go to the next student alphabetically. I want to be able to go to the next student whose quiz needs to be graded.
Is there a screen somewhere that shows which quizzes need to be reviewed?
So, there's no way to do this?
Just to confirm: the only way to access the quizzes that have essay questions that need to be graded is by going to SpeedGrader and clicking through each student alphabetically using the arrow buttons until you see one that has the blue box that says "the following questions need review." There is no way to access just the quizzes that have essay questions that need to be graded, you have to click through all students.
Someone please tell me there is a better way to do this. A way that requires far less clicking...
I'm not able to click on the "needs review" either. It is just an alert, which means I have to scroll down until I get to that question. It is SUPER annoying. Any suggestions?
Mine does not work this way. When I click the next student it does not go to THEIR essay question, it goes to the top of quiz which requires scrolling down again.
I am having the same experience, and it is extremely frustrating compared to the old quizzes experience. New quizzes also do not appear in the "to do" list with other items to be graded. Old quizzes did and also allowed a direct click down to the question(s) needing review. I hope this grading issue will be addressed!
