Hi @middletonsa
The method used will depend on which Rich Content Editor (RCE) your school is using in Canvas.
Legacy RCE
This guide should get you there if your school is using the legacy RCE tool. How do I embed an image in a discussion reply as a student?
New RCE
If your school has switched to the new RCE, this should help How do I embed media files from Canvas into the New Rich Content Editor as a student?
I hope this is helpful,
Kelley

Thanks for that Kelley
My question was actually in regards uploading a small photo file from 'Snipping Tool' into canvas. So I could then add it into the discussion board post, but no matter how I looked in questions I couldn't find the very basic explanation fir this.
Eventually after searching every link in canvas I found a file, then upload link and managed it, so all good
Thanks again fir your reply
Scott
