Launching Canvas for the first time with very short notice. Successful with importing courses, sections, users, etc. on the test site. Courses all have a Teacher enrolled but all courses showing as inactive. Teachers cannot see them at all. Only way I found to make a class "active" is to manually add the teacher to the course. Only then can the Teacher see the course. How do I make all these imported classes active? And, yes, the import file status is "active". Submitted a ticket but have not received any response.
I have this same issue.
What did you set as your term dates?
When you say "they cannot see them" what does that mean specifically? The courses are not showing on the teacher's Dashboard? If they go to Courses and then All Courses, are they visible there? What status was included in the enrollment records?
They can see them under future courses. They cannot click on them to open them. My export coming out of my SIS the courses are set to active and the start date is set to 8/12.
Can you post a few lines from each of your import CSV files?
Can you show me in raw text, not in Excel. like:
"COURSE_ID","SHORT_NAME","LONG_NAME","ACCOUNT_ID","TERM_ID","STATUS","INTEGRATION_ID","START_DATE","END_DATE","COURSE_FORMAT","BLUEPRINT_COURSE_ID"
"C-81949|82253","Ma/CS 006A | Ma/CS 106A","Introduction to Discrete Mathematics","142",526,"active","","2020-08-15 00:00:00-07:00","2020-08-22 00:00:00-07:00","",""

Okay, how about the enrollments file? Also, I'm curious why you are sending what appears to be the same course multiple times.
You are a genius. 🙂 That is where my error was. I have it all fixed. The start date that was being pulled in my export for the enrollments was the start date of the class. Once I cleared that it marked it as active. Thank you for all of your help.
