My school likes to assign zeros when an assignment becomes past due to give a realistic indication of the student“s grade but still allow the student to do the assignment until the end of the quarter. Is this possible with Canvas?

@patricia_lipsey ā, as long as an "until" date isn't entered for an assignment then yes, any student can continue to submit their assignments. The only thing that prevents students from submitting assignments is the "until" date on an assignment. The due date is what shows up on the calendar, to do list, syllabus, etc, but doesn't actually prevent students from submitting after that date.
Hope this helps!

Patricia,
Also when a student views their current grade there is a check box on the right hand side that if unchecked will count all uncompleted work as a zero. This gives the students "what if " grade if they fail to complete their assignments.
