Canvas Script Error Messages

Is anyone having into script problems when you are on Canvas? After a while, the site freezes an gives me script error. I tried on IE, Chrome and Firefox. I tried it on my laptop and a virtual machine. I am running into that a lot. IT suggests that it maybe it is a Canvas Long Running Script problem.

Agree, myself and colleagues are getting this message a lot when using Canvas, and have been for some time.  We also get Silverlight out of date messages.  Can anyone throw any "light" on these messages.

I don't think I've every gotten this message and I use Canvas in Chrome and Firefox all the time and do a lot of trouble-shooting for faculty and students. I wonder if it has to do with some of your LTI's? From your screen shot I noticed that you have a number of them. Have you tried contacting Canvas Support about this issue? I'd be interested to hear what they have to say.

Side note: I'd strongly recommend not using Internet Explorer or Edge for anything you do with Canvas. It's the number one cause of problems for our faculty/students when they use Canvas.

Sounds and looks like an IE specific issue even though you says you've gotten it on the other browsers. That pop-up is an IE message I only get when using IE sometimes.

Your computer and maybe the browser likely need updates, and try sticking to Firefox overall. You may also need browser plug-in updates.

Traci, now that I've talked to you more, I think it may be a "thin client" issue... Good luck with IT! 😃
