Canvas lecture screen goes black when I pause the video and back to normal when I unpause it.Macbook

When I pause my lecture in canvas modules the screen goes black and then when I press play it comes on again. This is an extreme issue because when I try to pause the screen to copy the notes the screen goes black. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know! I'm on a MacBook Pro if that matters.

I also have a Mac book. I found out it is safari that causes these issues. So for anyone else who have these issues and come across this forum. You will have to use a different browser than safari. Im using google chrome for canvas and lockdown browsers.
