Changing Course Navigation Link that displays as BigBlueButton (formerly Conferences).

Is there anyway to rename the course navigation "BigBlueButton (formerly Conferences)" to something else. It isn't being translated for our students and really stands out like a sore thumb.

Hi @JillRho 

There is currently no way to modify the title of items in the course navigation menu.

You could create a new Idea Conversation for this functionality in this community.

Kind of sad that this link cant' (won't) be changed. It looks really horrible in the course navigation. Even redirect doesnt solve the problem because it would be inactivated.

Hi there, @JillRho ...

I'm not sure where you would be assuming that the link can't / won't be changed.  If you look at the Canvas Deploy Notes (2021-08-04) - Instructure Community, near the bottom, one of the bulleted "Notes" items is, "The Formerly Conferences designation will be removed from the link in the 2021-12-18 Canvas release."

There may be ways to change the button wording now through the global CSS or global JavaScript file (which would be something to talk with your school's local Canvas administrator about), but I am not sure...as I don't have a coding background to provide insights on that for you.  Someone with more back-end coding experience might have a solution for you, however.
