Changing course icon

As an instructor and not admin, can I change the course icon from the Canvas compass to something else?  If so, how do I do this?

As an instructor, you cannot do this on your own. That icon lives outside of courses and appears in the global navigation menu. Your local Canvas administrator can change it through the themes, but then it will be for everyone in the account, not just you.
