Are you able to create a Collaboration on Canvas with multiple Google Drive components (more than one document, spreadsheet, presentation...)?  More like a folder than a single file?

Hi Amy,

You can create as many collaboration files as you want, one at a time.  But there is no way to create a folder directly from the Collaborations section in Canvas.  And the only types are Documents, Spreadsheets, or Presentaitons.

I haven't used collaborations in a while. The last time I did it only supported Google Docs and not Sheets or Slides.

To clarify for others reading this, you have to use Google Apps collaboration type to get those other options. The Google Docs collaboration comes when you add Google Drive as a web service in your Account > Settings.

Great point  @James ‌.  We disabled the "legacy" (my wording) Google integration about a year ago and only have the Google Apps LTI added at the system level now.  You are correct the the older integration shown on your dropdown as Google Docs only allows documents and not Sheets or Presentations.

The Google Apps integration also has other benefits such as being about to create Cloud Assignments. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13063-4152649160  If it's not enabled at your school it is also an integration that most teachers can add themselves to a course by going to Settings, Apps and searching for Google Apps.  Be sure to read the instructions fully when adding to your course.
