It's a feature option named "Confetti for On-Time Submissions" that an admin will need to turn on for your instance of Canvas. Once your admin turns it on, it just happens for any Assignment with a due date when a student turns it in on time.
Rick
Thank you.
For the time being, it's an account-level setting, which means that you cannot check your Course Settings > Features for it. On July 18, it will transfer to be a course-level setting and you can turn it on or off at the course level.
Students can turn off the confetti by going to their account > settings and disabling the celebration animations. The student view doesn't have an account > settings page, so they cannot disable it if is turned on.
Thank you James. It worked!

Hi Rick!
As a teacher using Canvas, how do I know if my admin has the Confetti feature turned on?
Thank you,
MaryBeth

According to my administrator the function is on, but it is not working for me under Test Student. You mentioned on July 18th the function control would move to the course. I don't see the function when I'm looking at "a specific course">Settings>Feature Option. Can you please advise on next steps to try?
Thank you,
Did you check to see if you have any faulty links? In your course settings, look to the right for "validate links in content." Run that to make sure all of your links work. If they do, you should get the confetti.
I just watched a video that stated it only works for online submission assignments, not Canvas Quizzes, Google Cloud Assignments, etc... Anything using an external tool (like Quizzes 2, etc...) do not offer the confetti. 😞
You have to have a due date in the assignment in order for it to work.
I have tried it out as a test student, even with a due date nothing happens.
Can this feature be added for faculty -- like after grading?
Our Canvas admin has the confetti feature enabled. I have it on. I do not have any faulty links. The kids do not get the confetti. Is it because I have allowed 2 attempts and they were happy with their first submission or because it was a quiz and not an assignment?
