I want to give points for attendance. How can I connect attendance to a gradebook column?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@sjreed7 , as soon as you take attendance for the first time, it will automatically create a column in your gradebook for you!
Here's a guide that should help - https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13050-4152107406

I have a follow-up question.
I can see the column in the Gradebook, but no grades where there should be. I only see dashes although there should be grades.
Is there a specific setting that should be enabled to allow the Attendance tool to report grades to Gradebook?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there, @floresr ...
I'm not sure if this will completely answer your question or not, but have you looked at the information in this Guide:
How do I edit the Roll Call Attendance assignment? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Hope this will help. Thanks!
Hi @chofer
that did not address my issue, but I accidentally found the solution.
I opened Speedgrader and cycled through all the names, then went to see the Gradebook, and voila! the grades are there.
Thank you for taking the time to help 🙂
