Discussion Board Grades Dropping into Gradebook

Hi,

I am new to Canvas and will appreciate any help.  I am hoping to set up discussion boards where a standard number of class points drop into the gradebook automatically once a student posts.  Is this possible or do I have to manually grade each posting?  I did a test run unsuccessfully.  I had to manually adjust the points.

With Discussions, there is not an auto grade function.  You will have to manually enter a grade for each student in the grade book or through the Speed Grader.

How do I grade a graded discussion in SpeedGrader?‌

Not all students who have made posts have them showing in speed grader. Is this something I need to change or something the student needs to choose/click/upload etc.? Thanks!
