Graded Assignments Don't Show in Grade View

When I am looking at the grade view it appears that I haven't graded any students' submissions for certain assignments (see the screenshot), but when I click on an individual assignment, it shows that I have graded it (see second screenshot). Is there a setting I can change? Is this because I'm using fudge points?How can I get those assignments to show up graded in the grade view?

Howdy  @mashmc ‌,

When you click on the cell for a student's assignment and you get  6 of 6 (your second image), try clicking on "update grade" button.

Sometimes when we've had Canvas re-grade items this has happened for us and clicking on the update grade button for each student has worked.

Unfortunately hitting "update grade" does not change this in the grade view. The assignments where this is happening are also not being included in the point totals for each student.

This question was not answered, nor was the offered reply correct. It turns out that I was able to find a much older question which was identical to mine. The answer is that Canvas's "fudge points" feature (where you can manually raise or lower a grade) is worthless because if you use fudge points, the assignment shows up as ungraded in the grade view (see my screenshot above), and the students' point total is incorrect because fudge points are not added in. I cannot see what fudge points are for if they don't show that an assignment has been read and graded, and if those points are not added into the total.

As long as you are grading every question (in addition to using fudge points), it should update with update grade. If that is not the case, you may want to open a support ticket.

Actually neither of us were grading every answer. So in a case like mine where each question was only 1 point, you either have to give full credit for each one (so you don't need fudge points) or you use fudge points and it doesn't show up as graded at all or get calculated in the point totals.
