Guest or Observer outside of network

Can an admin add a person outside of our school district to view a course? They would only need access to observe the course. If so, how is that accomplished?

Create a Canvas account for that person, then enroll that person in the course as an Observer.

We typically use the person's email address as their user ID (our account uses student/staff IDs as user name, and a guest would not have those), then make up a password using our default PW format.  If you do not have admin-level permissions, then you will need to ask your Canvas admin to create the new account.
