The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
I been to OCC only twice already, I am taking both english 151 and general psychology. But at the moment I can't seem to get any notifications and assignments on my Canvas, I was just wondering if it's because I haven't gotten any asignments yet or if it has to do with my LapTop or the Login?
P.S
I believe my Psychology professor says we have an assignment for a chapter one summary so that's why I'm sort of concern for my canvas at the moment.

Ryan: Make sure in your account settings in Canvas that you have notifications turned on. This should be under the user settings when you click on your account rather than in a specific class.
When you click on your class, make sure you click on the assignments link in the menu to the left. If the professor has posted (and published) an assignment, it should be there.
I hope that helps.

Hi @ryan_darnowski Welcome to the Canvas Community!
There is no need to depend on Notifications to learn if you have an assignment due, and to learn when it will be due. In fact, Notifications should be low on your list of resources for this, because it is very likely that your courses will include learning content and very specific instructions you should take advantage of before even attempting an assignment. Here are some other tools used by Canvas to keep you informed (first one should be your highest priority).
I hope this is helpful.
