Hello all,
My colleagues and I are looking for a way to allow students to record a short audio or video response to Quiz items. We are using LockDown Browser for exam proctoring, so we need to be able to record in the quiz itself without leaving Canvas or uploading a file from another source.
In Assignments, there is the "Record Media" function in the Rich Content editor, but in Quizzes, there are only the "Upload Media" or "Insert/Edit Media" functions in Essay items that require a file that has been recorded elsewhere.
Is there a way to get the "Record Media" function in the Rich Content Editor in Quizzes?
Thank you,
Vincent 🙂
Greetings,
I am looking for the same option. I want the kids to record themselves explaining how the solved a math problem.
I am also looking for an answer. Any ideas?
I'm trying to have students record a response in Spanish that tells where Waldo is located in relation to items in a picture. I would also like to know if its possible to bank several pictures and have one picture appear randomly to each student. In other words, when they open the quiz, they get one picture of 5 possible pictures and they must record themselves saying where Waldo is located. Seems so easy but I'm sure the programming part is insane...hahaha
There's not a way to get the recorder into the Quiz tool, but you could configure LockDown Browser to allow access to another website, such as Flipgrid.com. So, you'd have to carefully configure a Flipgrid topic, put the topic URL into the question, instruct the students to click on that link, and record their answer. Optionally, they could be required to paste the URL of their response back into their Canvas answer, but that may be a bridge too far...
