How do I remove a course from a teacher's dashboard?

I am the admin for Canvas at my school.  I was under the impression that as long as a specific course is "unfavorited,"  and the star next to the name of the course is not colored, then the course should NOT appear in the teacher's Dashboard.  However, I am seeing a course from last year and it's appearing on the teacher's dashboard and he would like for me to remove it.  How do I do that? Thank you.

rpsimon‌, are all of the instructor's courses "unfavorited"? As described in https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12896-4152719654 , if no course is marked as a favorite, up to 20 courses will display on the Dashboard; once he favorites a single course, only that course will display.
