There is an old course from last year on my dashboard, and it's distracting and cluttering up area as new courses are added. How do I remove the old / completed course from the dashboard?

Hi @abrandw Welcome to the Canvas Community!
The courses that are starred as favorites in your Courses list will display on your dashboard. One of these two guides will help you depending on your role...........
I hope this is helpful,
Kelley

The course that is remaining form a previous year on my dashboard is NOT starred in Courses.
Therefore, there should be no reason for it to be listed on the dashboard, but there it is.
@abrandw , just a thought: do you have any courses starred? If you don't, the dashboard will automatically display up to 20 of your courses. As soon as you star one course, the other courses will no longer display as cards.
Stefanie, even though another (current) course is starred, the old course remains in Dashboard. Starring the current class in Courses just pops it up to the number one position in Dashboard - it does not remove the outdated course. The only control I have over the old course is to change its color. Aside from that, I am stuck with it in Dashboard unless you know of workaround not mentioned in this thread, or unless someone who works for Canvas can remove it from Dashboard on the back-end.
That's very strange behavior, @abrandw . I tried to replicate it in my own Canvas account, but could not. I previously had around 15 courses starred, and when I unmarked 14 of them, I was left with only one course card on the dashboard—which is consistent with what one would expect. You might want to ask Canvas Support to have a look. General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as a student? but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.
