How to deduct a set percentage or points for late work - not per day

Is there a way to simply assign a 20% deduction for late work - regardless of how many days it's late? I only accept late work up to two weeks after the due date, but I only want to take an automatic 20% off the possible grade - not 20% for each day it's late.

Howdy @jennifer_roddel ,
Thanks for sharing your question. I'm assuming that you are using the New Gradebook and thinking about using the Late Submission Policy?

Currently, the only two options to set for a late percentage or per day & per hour.
What some of our professors did previous to having the late policy, is to create a criteria for "Submission Promptness" in the assignment's rubric worth 0 points. They would use the remainder of the rubric to grade normally and then use that last criteria to enter a negative value (ie -20 or whatever amount of points constitutes your 20%). This way students can see what they would have earned if it was on-time and also the mark-down from lateness.
Hope that helps,
Sky V.
