Hi Kristin,

I'm logged in through my own canvas account at the University of Washington, but my question is actually about parent canvas for my high school students.

There is an icon I cannot identify along with my daughters homework assignments and it does not appear in the document you linked to.

It kind of looks like a construction barrier. I've attached an image.

That icon isn't anything native to Canvas, and I don't think there's really any significance to it from the Canvas interface perspective.  My guess is that the instructor for this course used an emoji icon and put it before the title of the assignment...that's all...similar to this:
