Linking assignments so the next is unlocked after the former is submitted

Is there a way to link assignments/page so that once a student completes one, the next is unlocked. Some students want to go at a faster pace and don't want to wait for one assignment deadline to pass to get to the next.

You can do this by putting each of the items in a module and setting each item as a requirement, and checking the box that they must move through in order.  Take a look at this page https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26297-how-do-i-add-requirements-to-a-module
