Is there a way to move an assignment to a later grading period, but keep the due date in the previous term? I have a writing assignment that is due on the last day of the second quarter of the year, but I want the grade to appear in the third quarter. I don't want to change the due date on Canvas because I know some students will get confused. I also don't want it to be homework over winter break, and that is why I want them to submit it at the end of the second quarter.
Is there a work-around for this, or do I just need to change the due date?
@rrichter , sorry your question has been sitting here so long without an answer. Did you end up finding a solution for this issue? The only think I can think of is what you mentioned - changing to due date.

Does anyone have an answer to this?
I am in a position now of wanting to now grade an assignment from the end of term one and apply it to term two. Can anyone help with this?
