Muted Grades

I looked through the Canvas guides about muted grades. When I go to the assignment in question (new quiz) and click on the 3 dots as I've always done, the only option that comes up is "sort". There is not crossed out eye on the assignment to indicate that it is muted, but students said they were unable to see their grade. When I go to each individual students page, it is there that I see the assignment is not visible. What have I done to create that, and how can I fix it?

Hi  @freemalm   That seems strange.  Have you tried logging out and logging back in, or accessing the Grades tab from a different web browser?  Every once in a while something in Canvas doesn't look right and often when I use another browser or close my current browser and log back in the issue doesn't return.

Your best option may be to contact Canvas Support (see How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor?).  In this case, they may need to go through the class and look at things like your status in the class, assignment settings, etc., as well as if there have been any bugs reported that could explain this behavior.  Without access to the course the investigate, it may be hard for anyone here to help solve the problem.

Thanks for your response, Eric. I was able to figure it out. I was looking at the wrong column. I found the other column for my final and was able to unmute from there!
