I just enrolled and opened up my coursework. When I did I already have completed classes in my past enrollments area. Do I still need to complete these or why are they already there?

Seeing previous enrollments when you log into Canvas is not necessarily an indicator that you have anything left to accomplish in your previous courses. Many institutions elect to leave previous courses accessible to students so that, for example, they can refer back to previously submitted work or discussions. If this is still a concern for you, you might contact someone at your institution for clarification but what you are seeing is pretty common.
