I weight assignments by the number of total points available. (For example an exam worth 100 points automatically has twice the weight as a homework assignment worth 50 points.) I then enter grades and points earned and I encourage my students to focus on how many points they're accumulating toward their goal.
This is a long way of saying that the "percentage" columns for each module confuse many students. Is there any way I can get rid of or hide these columns so that the only information my students see in gradebook relates to the points they've earned on each assignment and the total points they've accumulate? (No percentages.)
Thank you.
There isn't a way, that I know of, to show assignment groups as n/total points in the whole gradebook. In the individual view (what the student sees), you are given the earned/total information at the bottom of the page.
Yes. The module % columns were confusing my kids too. Click on "settings" in your course. Scroll to the bottom and click on "more options". Scroll doen to the bottom and check the box next to: "Hide totals in student grade summary". That should do the trick. 🙂
