Recorded Conferences - How long does it take?

Hi all,

I usually record lectures that last about 45 minutes to about 90 minutes in the past which I have not had any issues with, in regards to having the recordings ready to access within 8 hours.

Last night, I ended up recording a lecture that lasted closer to 3 hours. It has been over 12 hours but it looks like my lecture has not uploaded yet. Is it possible that this lecture went too long for it to record properly? Or do I simply need to wait a lot longer - like 24 hours before the recording is available?

If memory serves, Conference (BigBlueButton) recordings may take up to 24 hours to show up in your course.  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13090-how-do-i-record-a-conference  I'll include  @ffdixon ‌ in my reply in case he has any additional information to share or if he can help you with your recording in any way.  But, because it's now been over 14 days since you posted your question, if you've only got the free version of BBB, your recording may have already been deleted automatically.

I am the product manager for BigBlueButton.  While I work at Blindside Networks, the company that provides hosting for Canvas Conferences to Instructure, and can't speak on behalf of Instructure, I can respond to your question.

I think you are on the Free For Teachers account.  We did some upgrades recently to that account, and going forward, as long as you click the Start/Resumebutton, your recordings should appear.

If future recordings do not appear after 24 hours -- and you did click the Start/Resume record button -- then send us an e-mail to support@blindsidenetworks.com with the title of the Conference, Date/Time it was recorded, and instructor's name and well take a closer look.
