Is there a way for me to have required questions that students must answer within a quiz in order to move onto the next question?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Kind of. If you set the quiz to One Question at a Time and check the box below that setting to not allow backtracking, it will force students to move through in order, only see one question at a time. It doesn't force them to answer, but if the don't and go on to the next question they can't come back and answer it.

We want required quiz questions as well.
yes please
Required Questions would be a very useful feature, please consider adding it.
@apelton, @aeverhart, @bethdangelo, and @dtappin ...
I don't see any up-coming plans to add this kind of thing to New Quizzes:
New Quizzes Hub - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
If you would like to see required questions as a part of New Quizzes, you could suggest this as an Idea here in the Canvas Community. Here is a link to Guides that indicate how you can submit an Idea to the Community for others to evaluate:
Community - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Check out the section on "Ideas and Themes".
I hope this will help in some way.
